? I have a Ford yt16 garden tractor with a 22hp Kohler courage and a 801 out back with a foot gas pedal not to mention some very aggressive tires. I was kinda showing off and I hit the gas then let off the brake and well, I sheared off 4 teeth on my input shaft and now I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to prevent this from happening again. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

There’s nothing you can do to strengthen your remaining teeth, you might have to replace them all.

Thank you for your input, I did end up getting a new gear but I couldn't, for the life of me, find an exact match. My gear had a flat shoulder on the bottom like it went inside the case, so I bought one that says it's for a 801 but it didn't have the shoulder like mine. It was about a little over an 1/8 inch thinner because it didn't have any shoulder on it, so, because the whole gear is splined, I cut some of the shoulder off my broken gear and slipped it onto the splined shaft and now it's tight and I hope it will work. Before I put it all back together I will be welding the diff.
