Can anyone help me identify my troy bilt?
Serial number P2143. Although the numbers show it to around 1968, I absolutely can't find a picture that matches it.
Not sure on that. There are a few things on this Troy bilt that seem old/odd. Old... the wheels are cast. Odd... the gear selector is on the left side of the machine. I verified the serial number and took a pic of it.

I believe the serial number is on the side of the casting seen just above the tire, below where it says Garden Way.... looks like 132-1703? The old Troy Bilt Horse models did have cast wheels. Yours is definitely older than my 1978 Horse tiller. I'm sure you noticed that the right side tire is on backwards. As dry rotted as the rubber is, I wouldn't mess with it, as it seems to hold air as is.

I found some valuable information going through my grandfather's old Troy Bilt docs. It seems that this particular Pony version was made from June 1971 to August 1973. Please see attached photos.
Thank you. I am in the process of putting it back together. Replacing all the axle and tine seals as well as drive shaft bearings. Luckily many of the seals and bearings are interchangeable with the horse. I did discover that it is a single speed transmission.
