It's a tradition for present/past presidents to attend other presidents library opening. Same with the unveiling of the presidential portrait done recently for Clinton.

What really gets me is how Clinton and the Dims are trying to sweep his impeachment and all the scandals under the rug and call it a right wing conspiracy. That's one library I will never visit. Will we ever be done with these Clintons!

Wow funny how so many hate Clinton so bad they think he was impeached.If he was how could he have been the President for 2 full terms?

Speaking of scandals how about whats happening right now?Powell threw in the towel?Is that not strange.Wonder if Bush fired him or if he decided to get out while the getting was good?Before all Hell snaps.He was wanting the war in Iraq and had evidence of weapons of mass distruction also?Now that things are turning into Viet Nam 2 over there.I wonder just what the real reason is with that.People think Clinton was so bad for getting a little extra on the side.But wait a year or so when the big scandal unfolds :furious: With George and Dick and there war for crooked money.I think it is already worring Dick his bum ticker is acting up.Stress and worring can cause that:furious: They drug are young people into this mess and now it will more then likley go on for years.Bush might have won the election.But just wait and see if a scandal does not truely unfold before the end of his second term,That makes what Clinton did look like nothing that is really was.

I hated to have to bring this up and get involved in this political crap on a tractor forum.But Clinton was the President and deserves the respect.Yes I would go to see his library if I was in the area.I might would even travel out of my way to see it.Just like I drove to Dallas to see where Kennedy was taken from us.When I was in the area.Wonder why Ford was not at the Clinton library?Probably getting old and has bad days where he just can not travel.But he managed to go to every thing for Reagan?But then again I forget he was involved in the Kennedy cover up to hush that event up after 1963 so he hates Democrats and might as well admit it.Just so they could get a war on the way.Sure it was a Democrat that started that mess.But a worthless one that hid behind the party and deep down inside was a Republican NUT JOB.He was from Texas also seems a lot of NUT JOBS are from there that become President?Another true Crook with his own Library and he was possibly involved in a murder of a president or atleast happy because it moved him in the White house before the body was cold.Ford has a library and he also was involved in the cover up.Heck Nixon has one also and even the Republican admit he was a Crook.So why be so hateful and disrespectful to Clinton just because he had a mistress.He just got caught with his pants down.The others did not.Dont tell me Bush Sr was not getting a little Pesidential seal Panasy on the side:furious: He would have to been born with out a set.Look at his wife she is a George Washington look a like.:furious::

Impeached

Hey johndeere, we have been through this before. Clinton was impeached (and disbarred)- whether you accept it or not. I suggest you "reacquaint" yourself with the impeachment process and what it means as well as recent history. This is old news and not worthy of further mention.

I agree that Clinton like any other president deserves our respect - for the sake of the office. Fine with me but as I said I will never visit his library as long as they attempt to put their own slant on history and the facts.

Clinton's "lackluster" legacy goes far beyond his many sordid affairs throughout his political career. These are probably the least of his mistakes and indiscretions. Again, I suggest a history course.

Yes, there have been changes in the cabinet. This is normal and expected for second term president. Powell has always indicated that he only wanted to serve one term. Bush's cabinet changes are running about normal for a second termer. Again, refresh your history. I only teach my kids at this point in my life.

I remember some of your earlier posts where you were offended that some of us consider you to be uninformed. This is just another reason we think so. Of course clinton was impeached!!! He was tried before the senate... that's what impeachment is.

Because of the generosity of the Republican senators most of the charges were dismissed before the trial, and sadly, the remaining ones weren't pursued vigorously enough to gain a conviction, although they were valid.

Even though the impeachment was relaxed too soon, clinton is still an impeached President, convicted felon, and disbarred lawyer.

Thank you! All is not well, but I'm getting by day to day. I'm getting used to typing with the tremor, but am not able to do anything in the shop.

I don't have much patience with ignorance like the post I responded to, but maybe I'll mellow out soon. I'll turn 70 in a few days.

Hmmmm. I guess you were born on November 30th. As I recall G. Washington enacted the idea of Thanksgiving Day and the date was originally Nov. 30th. FDR (for some reason that escapes me) changed Thanksgiging Day to the fourth Thursday of November. (Typical Democrat changing things to suit their needs! LOL)
