I thought maybe you were going to have a picture of the MRS. I don't know when they dumped them, but had them in the early 60's. I was a "Engineer equipment mechanic" in the Marines. We were told that MRS stood for "More Rebel S--t". They were made in Mississippi I believe.
On most U.S. Army Forts that I have been stationed at you will find alot of John deere Compact tractors and alot of Simplicity Garden tractors. I never saw a Kubota on any post. Saw some Husqvarna on some posts.
John Deere government pricing is so much cheaper, Kubota cannot compete and also, Kubota will not warranty its engines for use with JP-8 which is the standard fuel for the battle field now. It is required that all engine powered equipment be compatible for use with JP-8 in order to qualify for purchase as U.S. Army equipment.
