All I can say is IT IS ABOUT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to go check one of these out at the dealer. With fuel prices so high, an SUV that gets 35 to 40 mpg will be a welcome sight not to mention all of that diesel torque. :D :thumbsup:

I'm looking forward to hearing more about this one! Getting 500 miles to a normal sized tank of fuel is a definite plus!

Diesels rock!

I love my old Rabbit pickup. High 30's mpg around town & even better on the highway. My wife is looking at the Jetta TDI wagon (37 city-47 Hwy) to replace her Grand Caravan. I can't believe Toyota hasn't gotten off their collective a$$es & put their kickin' diesel into the American market. If they offered a diesel, she'd jump on it in a heartbeat.
