When you pull the stop button is it supposed to need a lot of force. The springeness of the stopper is very ferm to push in. That resultet in breaking the old cable. I have tried to spray some wd40 in it to make it softer.

Hello Luke, welcome to the forum.

Your kill rod should pull fairly easily. When cables get old and worn, they bind up and become difficult to pull. I would replace the cable first and see how it goes.

Measure the stop/start button.. remove it to work on it..BUT MEASURE IT FIRST.,,
Last time I needed 1, there wasn’t any to b found..
The customer actually made 1 for his pump.!! 1 hellofa job.!! He musta been a super star machinist.
I wish I saved that contact.!!
