I was using my new box scraper today and at some times I just felt a little uneasy about the relatively light weight of the 8N vs. the scraper and all of that dirt weight. Now, there was NEVER any signs of front end lifting or anything like that ---- Should I be concerned about the Ns ability to haul full loads of dirt with this scraper? It is a 5' scraper HD made by Howse. Just curious. I know that there is supposed a ROPS made for the Ns --- but I think I will get a larger tractor first before messing up the character and originality of it.

In any case, thanks for the insight.

Well, after an all day session with mud, dirt and the rest --- I got a little more confident and a little less nervous about using the box scraper and the additional weight load on the tractor. I completed dug out all of the ruts I made foolishly with the middlebuster and now I have a nice "roadbed" to handle the drainage. I am going to come back with the middlebuster and carve out a shallow trench in the middle to aid with final drainage. All-in-all, pretty good day. Could use a tractor with more power but man these 50+ N tanks do a fabulous job! :D

I have been thinking of a ROPS for my N also. As you can see by my pictures mine in NOWAY a show tractor, and plan to do some heavy work with it. BUT I also don;t want something that looks SO out of place. I know NH has one avalable for the N's but have never seen one. Anyone have a picture stashed somewere of one??? They are a chunk of change, but then agean, whats it worth to see my daughter get marryed in 20+ years???

I am rejuvenating (I really can’t say restoring) a Bolens 1250 with
a FEL and was seriously considering adding some type of ROPS.
I know it’s just a little tractor but with the loader it weights 1200 lbs
and that’s a lot of weight to get caught under.

I’ve looked as that pf engineering loader kit site, while there are plenty
of garden tractors with loaders shown, there aren’t any good examples
of GT’s with ROPS. Has anyone seen a good example of a GT with
ROPS other than the JD sub-compacts ?
