Well i went to my sisters camp this weekend and had my car with T-tops off parked in the grass driveway..

I left around 8:00 and was heading home.. going about 50 mph down a great windy road in maine.. I looked at my hood an lo and behold, a friggin snake was slithering up along the crack between the hood and the fender and working its way up towards the windsheild..

Now i am not a complete sissy.. but when it comes to snakes.. yeah, im a regular Richard Simmons.

It took me a minute to realize what the damned thing was doing and i did not want to find out if hew was gonna work his way up to the windsheild and into the car...
It scared the crap out of me (I DO NOT LIKE SNAKES)

I was tempted to 'pull a stewart' but decided to pull over - as fast as i could and got the 1st thing i found in my trunk - a tennis racket and flicked the damned thing off of my hood onto the ground...

let me tell you, i was wearing water sandal thingies and the rest of the ride home all i could envision was a pack of snakes rolling around under the seats...

It must have crawled up under the hood and then when i was moving it must have decided to ciome out either via the crack of the fender/hood or more likely through my recessed headlights..

whatever... i do not like snakes...

You think that's bad, how would you like to flush your toilet and as you're watching the water go down a snake comes slithering up :eek:mg: Yep, happened to me, down went the water, up came a 2 ft. gardener snake. You know that feeling when the hair raises on the back of your neck? Times that by 10 and that's about how I felt. After I regained my composer, I took the plunger to it. Not something I would care to experience again. As for how it got there, I have a cesspool for my septic which has a concrete lid with a hole in the middle. The hole is usually covered, but some how got uncovered and I believe it went down the hole looking for a little warmth, then worked its way up the lateral. Needless to say, I make sure the hole is always covered.

I had a snake in my basement a few summers ago.My basment floor drains into a field tile.It was a dry spell and he came up through the drain in the floor.I would have thought the drain holes were to small but NO!!!!! he fit.He was just a somewhat small garder snake. But I do not like snakes. He got a shovel up side the head.I then fixed the drains so there is window screen under the drains covers.I still to this day where shoes when in the basement and check the clothes that go in the laundry to be washed.Im brave in the winter however.I hate snakes they always give me a charge like touching an electric fence.I guess there good however. If for nothing else to knock the plaque loose from the heart valves.Damn snakes I hate the things.

I caught a rat snake about 6 foot long one time. I was coming home from work and happened to see it enter on the road, so I pulled over and got ahold of it, carried it back to my truck and looked around inside for something to put it in so I cold continue on home. I had nothing to use, that I thought would work so off I go. A rat snake is in the constrictor family, and in no time at all it was wrapping itself around my arm and making it a real chore to drive without having to fool with this darned rat snake. I spotted a paper sack with some odds and ends in t in my truck and figured what the heck, it shoud hold that snake until I get home. I pulled over unwrapped that thing off my arm got it in the sack rolled the top down good and tight, and wedgerd sopme junk on the rolled up portion of the bag. Just about to the house I just happened to notice a tail section of a snake in the passenger side going up under the dash. Get to the house and that snake was firmly in place up under my dashboard, and there was not pulling it out. Left the truck in the garage that night and turned the AC on in the garage as well as got it good and cold in the truck, then hung a 40 watt light bulb inside the truck cab, and in a few hours that sucker was up under that light bulb getting warm........

Geez that guy is something else. I saw one episode where he came to the states (I think it was Kentucky) and he went into a den of rattlers on a creekbank or hillside.

SJ,
If I seen that snake coming up the hood, I'd probably locked the brakes hoping he would slide off. :dazed:

With smart alec comments like that you are close!!!!

I really am a nice guy, I would almost qualify as a latte drinkin tree hugger myself. I just let ol mister fear creap in and Mr snake takes a dirt nap. At least I didn't scream like a little girl! My neighbor would have really let me have it then!
