Hello I was given a Scotts S2048 and the other day I went to give it a check up, and noticed the Transmission oil is low, I found the manual and it says to use 5W30 synthetic transmission oil but only can find Amsoil that states the weight, I can only find that Oil online and would like to get mowing sooner, Does anyone have any recommendations? I called a local mower repair center they should just get transmission oil from Autozone/Napa but online I do not see the weight.

I'm not sure if it states that it is actually "Transmission Oil" but rather 5W30 or 10W30 multi grade motor oil. Not synthetic as that is for the S2554 model.
From the operators manual.
Adding Transmission Fluid
1. Tip seat forward and slide seat suspension all the way forward.
2. Remove cap (A) from transmission reservoir. Cap is located under seat and left of fuel cap.
3. Fill to correct level using specified transmission oil (motor oil).
DO NOT OVERFILL. • S2048 use 5W30 or 10W30. • S2554 use 5W50 Synthetic.

Thank you for the reply, that’s where I feel confused as I also contact John Deere and they said to use transmission oil, and on another site I seen people say for k66 transmission I should get 5w50 synthetic I didn’t take a picture of that but it was bobtheoilguy website I think.

ignore me saying about k66 I have k62 and I guess I’ll just get regular oil for it, John Deere just threw me off but tractordata website also just says 5w30
