I live in the country, so it's not uncommon to see Dogs of every stripe and color in this neck of the woods. Some of you will remember when I built my little building for my Kubota, this is when I first noticed this friendly dog, we said hi and all of that stuff and off he went a waggin!!

Saga continues: I learned he had been adopted about a month ago by a couple about a mile up the lake from me and I thought life is good!

This afternoon we met again and my friend was in bad shape much thinner than I had remembered him, he seemed to want to get reaquainted and he followed me to the door even though my resident canines were having a conniption fit,,, after some sniffing, growling and pissing on everything in sight he is now apparently permanently ensconced about 10 feet away in the garage right off the room from where I'm typing this tale, door open and the herd standing guard at the entrance!!

All had ham scraps from the table and the two labs even shared with the newbie (lab ?) all have settled in to acceptance of each other mind you in less than 3 hours!!

One hurdle left, The Resident Queen, Miss (puss-cow) Cat has yet to meet the new guest here at the "Aminal INN"

It is Christmas after all and could you say no this guy?~?

I get to take care of a dog (doggie-door, underground fence, all I have to do is feed and water) for some good friends of mine when they are out of town. There dog looks just like your new pooch. She looks to be mostly Black Lab, but has the big white spot on the chest like yours. I enjoy taking care of her because she is playful and has a great temperament, and my friends' place is within walking distance.

I really can't imagine human life being so important that we can not take care of those less gifted !

If you want to criticize this this story, bear in mind, your talking to a DOG!

Hi! Folks,
DOG here at Archdean's zoo.

What an honor to write to you. I know how to do a lot of things, like scratch, growl, talk, type and fly but this is the first story I’ve written, so if you don’t mind, maybe you can put yourself in my place (you might want to think about that for a second) anyway if you can help me along with your imagination, this could be the beginning of a whole new experience, what with your reading the musings of a dog.( Don't blame me, your reading this).

Life started for me 9 years ago, which coincidently makes the boss and me the same age. Cool! Huh? Wow I got off point there, run with me now and I’ll get the hang of this story telling.

I had a pretty bleak start in life! I was an unwanted pup cause I can remember being dropped off in a very strange place, didn’t quite know what to make of my new predicament as it was raining and I was cold and hungry. Nothing looked familiar not that I was that experienced mind you but I couldn't’t have been a day over three months old when I found myself dropped by the side of the road and all I could see across a big open field of tall grass was a human house next to a big lake and while I was trying to figure out what my next move should be since I was scared poop less and the fickle finger of fate had crowned me the worlds newest orphan.

Lo and behold out of the tall grass comes the biggest and ugliest bro I ever did see, I mean this dude looked to me like his face met with a natural disaster he weighed about 150 pounds with a nonstop slobbering tongue darned near as big as I was, after he had satisfied himself by depositing at least a gallon of the wettest most disgusting slobber, from my head to the tip of my tail, he gives me the goofiest grin he could manage and says HI Kid, this is your lucky day. My name’s Busey and in case you don’t recognize my kind, from Turner and Hooch fame, I’m from the Bull Mastiff clan. Follow me kid and I’ll take you to meet the boss! Well things were beginning to look up for me! When we were about halfway through the field of tall grass it was becoming obvious why this big oafs name was Busey, every tick and flea for what seemed like miles around began to chant in unison HERE COMES THE BUS and surnuff they all hopped on.

As we approached the human dwelling my new found friend Busey started to gain a little speed, a trick all by itself as this ole boy only moved with a definite purpose and while we were loping down the drive, actually he was loping and I was running to keep up when I heard this gruff voice coming from what had to be the boss man say BUSEY, WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DRAG HOME NOW ?

Well I knew right then and there, if there ever was a time to get my act together this was that time, somehow I managed to wiggle everything imaginable and at the same time look as pathetic and pitiful as possible which wasn’t all that difficult considering my circumstance. To my surprise he liked me right off the bat and said I looked like a Blue Tick Hound, which was all right with me after all if this guy could love ole ugly here, I should be a cinch and we’ve had a great love for each other ever since that day.

It’s now nine human years later and it's happening all over again!

Thanks for reading my story and as ole Busey says: ~ If you are not the lead dog the view never changes~

I’m A Lucky Dog,
DOG

story from a non heterosexual mans cat

Cute, really, cute. I'm not a dog fan, ever since mine got hit by a bus...but i have a similar story...

coming from my cat (pre living with me)

My names banshee, can't remember the beginning of life...but i do remember the "Give A Heart" animal shelter in kenosha wisconsin that i got dumped at. Then after being there about five days, a gay fella picked my grey butt up and took me home with him...after living with him for about a year, he ended up killing himself, leaving me in the apartment to fend for myself. Luckily enough after about five days (which no food was present), the nice upstairs lady came down to see what happened to my dead dude.

Cops came, dude left (I've never seen him move that way on wheels) and i went to live with some ditz that lived upstairs. It was nice...until she decided to let her stupid boyfriends cat "kitty" move in too. They broke up, Kitty left, and we both moved to illinois, where its much nicer.

there you go, i never thought if it that way, yeah, that poor cat was down there for almost a week with his decaying body. I finally noticed the guy hadn't left his house for a few days and sent my cousin down to look in the window and there he was on the couch dead. He took all these pills and eventually pre death threw up all over himself, really gross...

The most disturbing part was the cats name is banshee (i call it pinche gato)

If you are addressing the above to me I'll try to help you understand w/o reiterating every nuance and detail!! It was just a post not a legal document of fact and purpose!!

Fact: Neighbor's "Lady" does not, will not tolerate dogs, any dog!!!
Dog now has a home and Neighbor is now allowed back inside sans dog!!

Just didn't feel it was necessary to detail the saga with that much information!!

Straight now??

heres banshee...

I thought i'd give you a look at what this poor little kitty looks like (its not as cute as the dog, but it will give him a run for his money)

Why did he get the dog in the first place anyways if the old lady wouldn't let him keep it? Thats dumb

man, you know i've heard so much about that stupid movie, and have yet to see it. Isn't that the one where they bury the people and make sausage or something?

Yeah, another disturbing aspect of the cat is it will sit there and suck on you...very gross.

Jody,
Max is a Pembroke Welch Corgie (The Queens Dog in case your interested) and Butch is a Mackeral Tabby that we got from our vet as a stray. He is actually hanging upside down in the cage to the amazement of our third critter Ginger who is a Great Pyrenees-Lab-Chow-Border Collie Mix. Here a picture of her alone.
