What a extended life he enjoyed.. Never thought any body that was around that amount of oil fumes and smoke would ever get to see his eighties let alone late eighties.

Heck of a job, to all corners of the world.

I've seen interviews of him from the first Iraq war. He was a no-nonsense guy who talked the talk and walked the walk. The best experts estimated 3-5 years to cap the wells in Kuwait and his crews got it done in 9 MONTHS. Usually it is the other way around with guys contracted by the government. And what do you figure the odds were of him reaching 89 years of age? I'm sure he couldn't get life insurance, could you imagine that conversation?

Prudential Agent: "So Mr. Adair... I see you want some life insurance. What do you do for a living?

Red Adair: "I fight oil fires by using high explosives, and water pumps that generate 3000-4000 PSI shot through hastily assembled equipment in war torn countries."
