Hi I am looking for a decent RC truck to mess around out back with. I was hoping the electric RC trucks were powerful, but was told Gas is the way to go...

I want something that will do little RC 4 wheeling in the woods/rough lawn ect..

Any suggestions?
Id want something with good clearance, i wanted electric because i am guessing the gas are noisey, are they wicked noisey?

Is Gas bettter than electric? Which is faster, more powerful? What kind of cost for the whole kit, remote,truck parts whatever is needed??

sj they are both fast i would like to have gas because the battery's just don't last long enough. They are a little pricey though to get a good one will be over $200.00.

For a good gas powerd truck you will pay over $400. The elect one are a lot cheapper. Now one advantage to the elect ones, and lot less maitance. The gas ones wile they run longer, and a lot more work to keep up. So if you are loking for something that you just want to play around with once in a wile, get the electric. You want to to REALY get into a new hobby, work at it, and have some fun, go gas,[nitro realy]

i found this site through e-bay...

The electric car supposedly goes 28 mph.. The Gas, nitro goes 55 mph..
sounds a bit unbelievable.... nicve that they are complete kits...

thats pretty funny jody... I like the electric but its sort of low to the ground... it would be best if i could sort of make the electric car like a 4WD so i could mess around out back on the grass with it...


Im too old to be running one up and down the street....

They have off road elect trucks also that would give you the ground clearance you are look for. Here is a link that gives you the pros and cons of both elect and nitro.

Simple John- I know this thread is a little old, but if you are still looking, check out www.towerhobbies.com. Biggest selection, and by far the best prices I have found anywhere. All from one page, you can look back and forth between trucks, buggies, nitro, electric, etc. They also have videos of alot of them so you can get an idea of how fast they are.
