Please advise sites that part out old tractors.

I have found a couple and have found cylinders for backhoe model 3120 but mine is much bigger model 3140.

can I try a cylinder that is not exact match?

Here are measurement and I have.

Just Hydraulic cylinder tube 47"
Hydraulic cylinder from nut to middle of support pin: 49.5"
Circumference of hydraulic cylinder: 14.5" So think that makes diameter 4.615"
Circumference of inner ram arm: 7.5" So I think that makes diameter 2.38"
Width of end support that pin goes thru: 3"
Support pin on each end, Diameter: 2"

Howdy Don, welcome to the tractor forum.

First place to check is the "dismantled machine" section of tractorhouse.com They have 5ea. 3414's listed in salvage, but at least three of them do not have backhoe.

What is wrong with your cylinder? You might consider taking it to a machine shop and have them rebuild it. They can make you a new cylinder and/or a new rod.

When living in WVa there were several local shops that tailored to hydraulic cylinder rebuilds at a fraction of the cost of a new cylinder. Google search for a hydraulics shop in your area. These guys can do miracles with worn out cylinders.
