Anybody having problems with the page loading not completing?

My DSL connection was down for about 15 minutes earlier today. Since it came back up, other sites load ok, except this one. I cleaned out my cache (Temporary Internet files), and switched browsers. Just curious if it is on my end or not.


Edit: The pages seem to visually load all the way, but the status or completion bar does not complete all the way.

This afternoon about 3pm EDT my DSL at work was running slow and hanging. Everthing seemed to speed back up later.

The "make a donation" button isn't loading properly on mine. Keeps telling me it's downloading a picture for paypal.

This site has always been the slowest loading site on the internet for me ever since it started over a year ago. Thats why I became only a casual visiter. I visit when I have a high patience level.

My original post was not intended as a critisism. I was just curious if the problem was on my end or TF. I find the uptime and performance on this site to be very good.

I have a broadband connection. So page loading speed is not an issue. I have used a Dial-up connection, and found the homepage a little slow, but nothing out of the ordinary compared to some other sites.

There are several factors that can have a negative effect on speed of a Dial-up connection:

An older or slow computer

An outdated modem

Substandard or old telephone wiring or jacks inside your house.

The condition and length of the telephone cable or wires that go from the Telco's swithching office to your home (someone who lives a half mile from a telco switch will have better performance than some one who is 15 miles out.)

The abitlity of the Telco's EQ to handle lots of data (most should be pretty modernized by now).

Web traffic beyond the local telco (this can affect broadband, too.)

Any of the above criteria can make a dial-up connection speed more sensitive, especially sites like this were there is a lot of info on the homepage.

It loads quick for me even on dail up

I have noticed it loading slowly too. If it is too slow, I hang up and dial a new modem hook up until I get a connection that is reasonably fast. Not sure why this is.

All the rich full graphics on this wonderful site. I also am on dialup and have no cable and to far out for DSL. Of course some folks think I'm really far out in the fact I look around this site so much. Better then the porn sites.
