I love old pickup/work trucks. Even though I grew up during the muscle care era in the late 60's, I've always preferred pickup trucks. As a teenager back in the late 60's, all the guys I knew with a new camaro, mustang, or firebird were punk-ass rich kids and Daddy had bought them that awesome car. All the old farmers around me that I admired/respected were MEN and they could actually teach me something useful, give me a job, and they all drove pickup trucks. Maybe they got me to relating driving a pickup truck to becoming a man. In fact, I've just realized I haven't actually owned a car since I got out of the Army 45 years ago, so there may be some validity to that thought....

I stay in touch with some of my oldest friends on Facebook and today I came across a picture of a really nice looking old pickup. When I clicked on it, it took me to a FB page that features nothing but old trucks. I loved it and thought I'd share with some guys on this Forum that seem to love old trucks also. Here's the link and a picture of an unusual truck that is posted on that FB page as a teaser to the rest of the content and it's something you don't see every day. I wonder if that 1929 Colorado "Special Permit" has expired.....

Looking at the old school bus, I can't remember the last time I saw the weather stripping on the glass itself instead of in the door.

Here you go FredM this one is for you...... It's got a tow boom, a serious winch on the front, and they even put the steering wheel on the wrong side ;)

There was the Chevy El Camino, there was the Ford Ranchero, but neither one compared to this.......

Thanks Bob, Was aqquanted with the long and short wheel base models like the series1 in your photo, but it was the series 2 with the fully floating rear axles model with full canvas canopy from cab to tray and this was fitted with a 6 cylinder red Holden motor (GM and a mod) not mine, a workmate's, which was an improvement over the 4 cylinder that the vehicles came out with, and the 4 cylinder diesel, my wife always said they go faster backwards than forward.o_O

Later models came out with a 6 cylinder petrol engine that was OHV inlet and side valve exhaust, crap engine that one, had a history of burning the exhaust valves.

Overall, they weren't a bad runabout.

I'm watching this Land Rover at a local auction. If it stays under 2K, it just might come to live with me.

1st gen Broncos have gone through the roof the last 5 years...... Not unusual to see them going for 6 figures. Here's an example

The 1st gen Broncos have gone through the roof since Ford announced the reintroduction of the Bronco in 2021. I suppose it's going to be like when Chevy reintroduced the Camaro, that was 2009 and 1st gens still bring a healthy price. The '66 & '67 1/2-cabs like this one seem to be what the younger guys want.

The Ad on Craigslist said this turbo should bolt right up to most engines, but may require some slight modifications...... Probably gonna need at least a couple of spacers on the hood brackets:cool:

Hitting a brick wall Bob, searched out a motor club asking for help, let you know what gives eventually.

Are you wanting info on this particular vehicle or the A40 in general?.

I don't mind that mod, the squat look looks a lot better that the high thin look of the original vehicle, that was the period though.

Interesting little critter, toe jammer for sure if Chinese riding boots were worn while operating.😁

Interesting to see the running gear and workings in a breakdown diagram.
