This forum board was specifically made to allow guests and others who may have problems posting (rights, logon issues, password issue, etc) post here for public support from the administrative staff. Visitors may post as unregistered or guests here on this board only.

I hope this helps with any future posting/account problems.

Can't access TF from work.....

I was wondering why I can read this forum (as Guest) at home, but when I try from work, I get a message saying my IP address is blocked? Is that something you did, or is your site blocked by my Network Administrator or IT people at work?

Insulting

Is this a forum where I'll actually get some help, or do you guys generally just insult guest users? So far, I'm not very impressed, so doubt I'll even bother to register.

Huh???

Unregistered,

As Simple John asked, in order to help you, do you have your browser security set up to block certain sites/only allow certain sites? Could be a problem. Also, as SJ suggested, your IT group may have blocked this site.

Help is here, and will be given, but some additional info from you or checking on your part might be necessary.

I'm sure no insult was intended. Look forward to hearing back from you.

I wouldn`t bother to register either if I had the thin skinned :cry:baby attitude that you just exposed of yourself.

wow andy you are good....

So TG if you are out there lurking around.. come on back and join us...

BTW I was not insulting you or anyone, i was just pointing out that ITG has the ability to block sites...

so i am assuming Andy if i use my dialup isp instead of my cable modem, i would come across at a different IP. are the IPs always the same with dialup also?

If your connection for DSL is setup for DHCP, it is possible that it would change, but mostly like it would remain the same. IP addresses are usually given out for a period of time and then re-assigned, but you may get the same IP address for awhile.

Planning on hiding? ---- Tisenberg is right ---- The lease times for your IP address may vary from 24 hours to several days (most often the case - most configs are set anywhere from 3 to 7 days) --- so technically unless they migrate classes from one router bank to another or reload all of the lease assignments on the DHCP server, you will get the same IP address for your PC. (this is not the case for dialup internet conenctions --- as you are simply obtaining a temporary lease from the open DHCP pool) ---

So there you go.
