I always thought those little tailgate cable thingies had a weight limit. Wasn't there a recall notice about them coming loose and the tailgate falling. Could you imagine those two falling? The poor truck would need a loader attachment to dig out of the hole created.

If the tailgate broke the sudden downward motion of the back end of the truck, and the sudden compression of the springs, would send the rear of the truck upward and it would end up on the roof.:furious:

thanks for the image parts i'll add that to the list of reasons i don't drive a ford pickup. what would happen if they sat on the side of the box the way they build these new trucks. its like the chev commercial where they hook onto the tree and stretch the truck from reg cab to club cab to quad cab. all that says to me is look how light we're building our trucks now
