I have a IH574 with trash in the hydraulic system. I have to change the filter every few days or hours, depending upon usage. One the Filter and or screen plugs up, I have to kill the tractor and then restart to get back to the house.
can I flush the system with diesel fuel? I do not know whether I should operate the hydraulics with the diesel or just run in in the transmission for a few minutes.

thanks for any recommendations

You should first determine what the "trash" is, and where it's coming from. While cleaning the cases and the hydraulic system may well be necessary, it's rather pointless if the source is internal and ongoing.

As for using diesel, that's a judgement call. I've done it myself in some cases, with satisfactory results. It probably won't hurt anything in your case, but then if the source of your contamination is ongoing, it won't really solve much either.
