Dear all

I have the old cylinder liner out and have the new one ready to insert. I have replaced one rubber sealing ring at the bottom of the water case, yet I have been given 2 per cylinder. Apologies for being dim, but where does the second ring fit? Is it a double seal?

Many thanks in advance.

Just throwing this out there..... Is there a groove in the block perhaps for the second seal if not in the liner? Sure seems like there'd be at least a second seal.

Just of curiousity, I checked a kit from a supplier:
Overhaul kit that contains two sets of seals, you only use one seal per liner.:

One of the variants:

The other:

Your liner kit has two type of seals in order to cover two types of engines. Either an engine with red stripes case, or an engine with gold stripes case. I do not have a clue what it means, but it is probably clear when you see the engine.

According to this Swedish supplier, 574 has the red stripes which means that the seal with 5 mm thickness and 110 mm inner diameter should be used:

https://www.oieparts.com/Produkt/liner-seal-each-5-0-mm-red-(3228344-R1)?sectionId=1000194191

This is the other one (not 574), yellow means gold I suppose:
https://www.oieparts.com/Produkt/liner-seal-each-4-7-mm-yellow-(3228348-R1)?sectionId=1000194191

That means that the thicker and larger one of the two in the kit fits 574.

Edit
Discovered that OIE even comes in the English flavour, changed the links.
