hi i am new to forum i have a1969 for diesel 3000 select o speed
Welcome to the forum. You said you had a Ford 3000 select-o-speed but didn't comment about any issue with the tractor. I like old tractors and recently bought a Ford 4000 select-o-speed as a project. Nice sheet metal, good rubber, power steering, external hydraulics, etc. The shifter cable was broken. Bought a new shifter and cable, bought the manuals, but got sidetracked on other projects and hadn't done anything with the tractor. I learned that these select-o-speed tractors have a history of running over people. I was told NEVER stand on the ground and reach over to start the tractor because if the selector is not just right, it might actually be in gear and take off when cranked. I have about $1200 in the cost of the tractor, new parts, and cost of the manual. My thoughts are to try to recover my costs and pass this project to someone else who has time to devote to getting it going. Whatever you do with your tractor, just be extremely careful and don't get hurt. Good luck.
