Husqvarna LTA 18538. Briggs and Stratton Model 330000 engine no start

Starting problem. Yesterday the Husky would not start. Here is a short history:

A few months back it would not start sometimes. I thought it was just cold. If I hooked the trickle charger and pushed it in the sun it would start. Eventually that no longer worked and I thought the battery was dead. I had another newer battery(proper type) and dropped it in and had no problems starting till yesterday. It will make an initial noise like it is going to but then won't and sometimes for lack of a better descriptor it wheezes as well. Jumping it did not help.

Today: I tested both batteries with my multimeter. The old one was at 6.8V the new one gave me 12.6V so I think that one is OK. Next I tested the starter (youtube is great) and it spun right up. Next was the solenoid. It tried to start but would not and I didn't want to ruin too many screwdrivers or blow myself up cause the solenoid is next to the battery and sparks. So that was that. I put it all back together. I don't recall my thought process but I set a heavy log on the seat and she started like a champ so I cut grass. I turned it off and let it sit for half an hour and it would not start until I set the same heavy log on the seat and boom it started. So, I don't really know. From my reading I see where a solenoid might work this time but not the next OR since I need to be on the seat to start it perhaps the seat sensor is shot.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks

Nope. Darn. I was thinking too that's all it was. It will start without the switch(of course it won't keep running unless I put the parking brake on) but the consistency with which it may start is not increased or decreased without the switch. I don't know how to jumper the switch but there are videos of guys I think so I will look some more. Any chance the solenoid if faulty? And, should I have the battery load tested to see if it produces the cranking Amps the starter motor needs.

Thanks
Most likely you have a parking brake safety switch?? You have to be on the seat before releasing the parking brake.

To jumper a safety switch, you simply unplug the switch and put a short length of wire in the plug / connector to complete the circuit. Of course, this is a temporary connection for testing purposes.

Gonna study all of them. Thank You
I have not forsaken my Lawn Tractor. I have about 1.3 acres to mow and it grows very fast. I called the shop and they said 1 month so I had to get it in to them on the very good chance fixing this is beyond my skill level. When pickup time arrived no one showed and on calling I was told they have no room to store more stuff so they would be picking it up a week before (3 weeks from last Tuesday) it would be ready. This is great because it means no matter I can work on it and have time to solve the issue(s), hopefully. I now understand jumping and it's purpose. Where I am still grey it where to run the jump. Today I jumped at the switch on the brake that needs engaging to start and that seems OK. There are jumpers to do on the seat switch. Would it be safe to say that when bridging, bridge above and below? Not beat yet...last summer my chainsaw took me six weeks but I didn't need it.
