Hi all
I’ve been lurking here for a bit. I just got my new project tractor. I’m new to restoring and want to try my hand at it. The engine is stuck and it’s been sitting for a long time. So I have my work cut out for me. I was told it’s a 72 but have no proof. Anyways here is a picture of it.

Awesome info thank you it looks worse than it is. It's all there one rim looks to be rusted thru and the hood is butchered, the mower deck is wasted but i dont want it to mow

Most of that will buff out!

Engine Serial # says it's a 1975 (7 digit Kohler serial # -- 1st two digits -- 70-72 = 1975 -- Page 1.3 K Series Service Manual). Pretty much everything you're gonna need to know about it is contained in the links below.

Don't be shy, post some pictures for us as you're progressing through the restoration. Maybe pogobill will loan you that "magic buffer" he uses and you could save 25 hours of labor time getting it to look nice so you can install the decal set below
