Fuel injector issue

I’m trying to restore a 3 cylinYM2500 engine 3T80

I know there was air in the gas line but when I’m bleeding them the middle nozzle does not work (no diesel comes out .). I tried cleaning out and blowing out the injector ? But nothing changed. I stated to take out the pump and changed my mind after it didn’t just slide on out . Any suggestions ?

First try tapping on the pump, not hard. Sometimes the plungers stick. Might jar loose, not likely, but nothing lost by trying. If pump has to be removed you will have to remove the inspection cover right above the pump and take a retaining pin out of the governor linkage where it attaches to the injection pump rack. I would not advise taking the pump apart.

Are you saying you are getting a good flow of tuel to 2 injectors but just not the 3rd?

Is this for a YM2500 or YM2610?

Yes that’s correct. No fuel coming out of middle injector Let me try knocking on it. I’ve seen videos of people taking the pump apart. I’d say my odds of getting it back together correctly would be 1:20 😂

thank you. I’ll post soon
I’m confused..
are u saying that there’s no fuel out of #3 ON THE PUMP.??
Or no fuel OUT OF THE INJECTOR.??

u better think TWICE about going into that pump.. it’s not a diy project..
Yes. No fuel is coming out of the middle one

I would guess the plunger is stuck in the up position.
I’m with you Winston.. stuck plunger..
Bad part is, there’s UP PRESSURE on the barrel and when u loosen/remove the dv holder, the barrel will want to raise up off its seat & its locating pin..
and probably dislodge the copper gasket under the barrel..
So.. if any of this makes no-sense, it’s best you don’t open up the pump..

Well. .. I knocked with a hammer around it and what do you know …. Fuel started flowing !! I took a picture of some of the debris that came out . I removed the “injector” and blew it out and put it back in. Fuel is pumping through all three lines.

not starting yet .. but I feel like I’m getting closer.

THAT is not the injector .!!
The injectors are in the cylinder head, on the other end of the steel lines..

BEFORE pump any more fuel thru the filter and injection pump, are you using new diesel fuel?

I never use off-road diesel in my area due to the infrequent use by all around. So it's old fuel in those service station tanks.
Instead I fill up my containers at the local TA, Flying J's or Pilot where the diesel is constantly fresh. For the few pennies and nickels saved for off-road, it's not worth the money when the fuel system gets clogged.

I was a Seafoam person for cleaning the diesel fuel system until I found this product. It's better than Seafoam in many ways.
I still have Seafoam and Deep Creep for other things, but the GumOut truly works in our Yanmar YM machines.

Ha. Shows you what I don’t know. What is that then ? A plunger?
Also. Thanks for the fuel tip. A friend of mine said the diesel smelled and looked ok . So I left it. And topped it off . That tractor has been sitting in a field for at least 2 years. I’m going to drain it all out and replace it with all new.
Is there a way to “flush” out the motor ? Since I’m draining it all out anyway ?
after adding all new diesel I’m going to try to start it again. I hope the fuel lines are good now.
thanks for all the advice so far.
Looks like the delivery holder to me, number 17. Should be tightened 29-32.6 ft lbs.

remove the line off the injector and keep turning it over to see if it clears out the air,to remove the pump there should be a plate you remove on front timing cover to get to the bolts that hold the gear to the pump. but they are timed and have to be put back in time
This pump timeed with shims only, should be no change if put back with same shims.
BM.. not only your initials but your advice too.. lol
That’s my initials too
Any objections to new fuel ? Doubt it
What about the use of starter fluid in the air intake ? Also I’m assuming this ball is to help it start. I put diesel in it. It may be clogged though ..

That engine has a decompression lever on the valve cover..
Activate it and the engine will spin 3x faster w/o burning up the starter
Do not use starter fluid on the engine. Heard of "many" broken piston lands because of it. Yes, the little plastic resevoir is made to hold dieset. Turning your key to the left and holding it activates a heating element down belowwhich ignites a fire in the intake manifold. Inside a Yanmar thermostart (glow plug) unit.
