Sure! Andy I would be very interested. I don't have any Lat/Longs or UTM grid coordinates but sure we can figure something out. Would make for some interesting pictures. It would be very interesting to see the 700 acre piece since it is in the process of being clear cut right now. Looks like we will be closing on it sometime in mid to late July.

Admin...what do you need to get the pic? Will just a normal addy do? MapQuest has something like that, but it is from far, far away, and never looks too clear.

I did a search on yahoo for the attached picture of my property on terraserver. Andy if you get something better I would be interested because the photo is not as currant from 1998, PM me if you can do better.

I had the same problem with terraserver. The picture was so old, my land was mostly just woods with a small clearing. Easy to find on the maps though. My land is a triangle, as is the land next to me, so we look like a big pie slice. Plus the railroad is one leg of the nabours triangle, and you can ALWAYS find a RR on a sat photo.

The best aerial photo's I have been able to find on the internet is with MSN TerraServer. Only thing is that many of the stored images are over 10 years old and not of the best definition. On the other hand, I couldn't beat the price.

I found that my county website had newer pictures than terraserver. Check with your local building codes people to see if they have a site where they can see ariel shots. When I go to my county website, I can pull up a picture of the lot with tons of options as well as the complete purchasing history of any house, square footage, etc.

I'd be interested to see if Andy has even newer photo's.

The latest I have found for the DFW area are the 2003 run, just put up by the NCTCOG also available on the Dallas city hall web site as part of there interactive map. they cover Dallas - Fort worth and the counties around them. Zooms in to about 1-meter res.

I had some awesome aerial photos of my place when I initially got it when we used to fly RF-4C phantoms.......Then we swapped to 16's and recon photos went away......but a unit in Virginia was tasked as an F-16 Recon unit, and were given special pods to take pics with........at one time our unit was also slated for this mission, and obtained the loan of 1/2 of their pods..........and yes, I once again got a newer more updated aerial image of my place from the air. Problem is I can't find where it was put anymore. I did ot have a scanner back then or I would have scanned it and had it on a CD disk and would know where its at now.

Thanks for mentioning Terra Server. Last I looked at the images of my place the aerial views did not conver my neck of the woods. It fell about 5 km short of where my property was, now its in the system and covers it and a lot more in my area as well. So evidently they are continually updating the images.
