Reminds me of a Ford car manual I'd found, I think from the 30's. It stated that It would be hard to imagine any more improvements could be made to automobiles. They'd go 30,000 miles, had replaceable crank bearings, heaters, etc.
And we've all heard the story from the early 1900's that the patent office might as well be closed because everything had been invented.
