I just got a for 860 tractor. Someone before me had cut the wires to the key switch. I can get the tractor to turn over but it won’t fire. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure it will turn over regardless of the key being on or off. But won’t start unless the key is on. If this is so, how do I go about fixing this? I can’t find any wires to connect to a new switch. Is there a way I can bypass this? Any help would be great

Do you know if it is the 12 volt or the 6 volt system?

I think that is the way they are supposed to work.
The ignition and starting circuits are completely seperate.
