The same pump supplies the oil to the PTO clutch and the 3 point hitch cylinder. Is it your 3 point hitch your having issues with, or is there a loader on the tractor? Does your PTO work?

The pto is working but the 3 point hitch is not working.what l wanted to know is how does the oil go to the cylinder of 3 point hitch,l only see a filter attached to a pipe going to the cylinder no any connection to the pump

The picture above was taken thru the access port of a 1968 5000. It shows the pipes and 2 different filters associated with the hydraulics. Here is a link to a service manual, and attached is an I&T manual (rather rough but readable).

Hope this helps.

another point for confusion. There are two tubes visible in the above photo. The larger one at the bottom is the pump suction tube. On the lower end(in the dark) is a screen, not a filter. The upper tube carries the return (exhaust) oil FROM the lift system. Oil from the main pump section flows through the lift valve, or in/out of the cylinder as needed. It returns to sump through this tube and filter (from the inside out). Strange maybe, but that's how they did it.
