How many of us use the same user ID here on TF as we do at eBay? How do you feel about using the same ID? Would you rather no one knew you were bidding against them? Would you hold back if you saw a fellow member bidding on the item you also want? Would you be less likely to "snipe" if you use the same ID at both places? Or do you feel it's every man for himself?

Personally, if I see a name from here, I won't bid, unless they have dropped out of the bidding. But if I don't recognize the ID, then I go as far as I can to get what I'm bidding on. Maybe, even sniping some fellow members along the way whose different user ID's I'm not familiar with.

I don't use the same ID at Ebay. If I really need it, I'll bid no matter who else is interested, if I recognize the other bidder, and I don't really NEED it, I have backed off in the past.

I use the same name on ebay as I do here.

With both of us being Bolens men, sixchows and I have already run into cases where we backed off because we saw each others names.

I no longer patronize Ebay, but if I did, I would surely bid if I wanted something even if my own momma was bidding on it.

When I used ebay I used a totally different user name.

Great Question.

If I see someone I recognize from this forum bidding
I have and will continue to PM them before I bid.

I’m glad some of you use the same screen name and eBay ID
otherwise I would have had no way of knowing that another
tractor forum member had placed a bid. I don’t use the same
eBay ID as Tractorforum ID (aespo335 vs. aegt5000).

The eBay ID came long before I joined this forum (or GW forum)
and I didn’t want to change my eBay ID because of the negative’s
associated with ID changers.

do you guys buy a lot of tractor stuff at ebay? seems like shipping would be costly for most things..
*********

You just have to watch the shipping cost & figure it in with your bid for total cost. I just bought a new J4-Magneto cap for a total of $26.00 including S&H. The cheapest I could find one for-sale was $69.00 plus S&H on tractor sites.
