90's Dixon ZTR mower. Has a Briggs and Straton 14 HP I went to change the oil and filter and I swear it does not have an oil filter.
I cant believe I am this miss guided.
If you can help me I would appreciate it greatly

You are NOT misguided.... The Briggs & Stratton message is clear: "You don't need no stinking oil filter".

I really don't know at what point engine makers decide to put an oil filter on an engine. I have an old 13 HP Honda engine on a pressure washer with no oil filter. I have two push type mowers with B&S engines - no oil filters. I had a 8HP Tecumseh engine on a 5KW generator - no oil filter. I have a Troy Bilt Pony tiller with a 7HP B&S engine - no oil filter.

I have a JD Z-trac mower with a Kawasaki 27HP water-cooled engine, it has an oil filter and a hydraulic filter.

It's a Splash oil system , no oil pump therefore no oil filter, lots of small gas engines are made like this Most now have a low oil level Shutdown in case the level gets too low to splash enough oil to lube everything internal
