not much you can say about this.. its just very very sad.. ive never served...but id like to wish all the best to those who served or are serving or have served for this great country...

the sad thing is.. theres really no good timetable for when our guys and women will be the heck out of there

Loosing so many lives is a terrible tragedy.

That picture probably gave a lot of people hope that their loved ones would be coming home soon. It was just political and that is a shame.

memmurphy, in retrospect; I think something like that would have been much more appropriate. I still think we need to start playing hardball with these savages. A 1,000 to 1 kill ratio for every American dead, a 1,000 savages from this point on seems like a good starting point in my mind. I think it will at least temper some reason into them.

In this country it is not necessary to have served in the Military to be a thoughtful good upstanding citizen. there is an equilibrium between constantly running off at the Mouth without qualifying your comments! AND

If you have served and shown your courage I applaud you, if for whatever reason you were unable or perhaps not wanted to join your fellow countryman that is for you and you alone to wrestle with but for Gods sake if you have an ounce of reverence for those throughout the history of this Great Nation that gave there all so you could (wisecrack, pontificate , and generally denigrate what good people from across this Nation gave their lives for), you at least ought to have the decency to keep your little liberal pantie waist stuff to yourself and quit trying to be someone that you will never have the guts to become!!
You would be a lot more respected for being silently embarressed than a dipsh*t carping negative wanna-be!!

Greg, you present a false or James Carravel type arguement. I am for killing as many as it takes to beat the fight plum out of them. I could care less that means 10,000,000 of them. 10,000 of those gutless heathen savages is not worth one of our people over there.

The question you SHOULD be asking is...........why aren't these "other" Iraqi's that are such good peace loving people out in the streets fighting WITH our soldiers to exterminate the vermin causing the problems????

They are unwilling stand up and fight against the terrorists and clearly display the cowardice by tacitly supporting them and timidly knuckling under to their bloody tactics. They gladly do whatever they think is good for their own ass at the moment.

In my mind the issue is clear. The war IS over. The opportunity to surrender was offered, has pasted, and was refused. They are either with us fighting in EVERY respect or with the terrorists. NO middle ground.

They WILL crumble and submit just as the Japanese did after Hiroshima. Learn your history Greg. The Japan vowed to fight to the last man and engaged in suicide bombing attacks until we beat the fight out of them. Sound familiar? When it was all done, we killed nearly 300,000 of them with 2 bombs. Suddenly they became VERY reasonable and gladly decided that total surrender and submission was a great deal. The same tactics will immediately work with these heathen savages. They can die fighting for their own freedom and with us or I consider them the enemy and they can just die.

The time has indeed come to "cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war".

1,000 plus Americans have died in order to give freedom to all Iraqis.

We made the decision to help them set up a legitimate government, fair laws and rules and the opportunity to join the democratic countries of the world. They still live in a different world than the US and we cannot "wish" them to change overnight.

They do need to begin their own fighting of the insurgents that threaten their freedom, but that does not mean wiping out massive numbers of civilians.

If the war is over, Chief, why are we still there?

The situation "with" Japan in WWII and the war "in" Iraq are quite different, you know that.

It's a shame you consider the Iraqi people "heathen savages". Who else?

If you feel we should just "level" Iraq, why did we go there in the first place, why did 1,000+ Americans have to die and why are we still there?

I feel for all the families of the 1,000 now and those that will surely die before we leave.

Normal everyday Iraqis trying to live day by day but are caught up in the fighting between the government/US and the insurgents, many of whom are foreign. Those who daily have to fear death of themselves and their entire families at the hands of the insurgents. Those who have been suppressed and brainwashed for decades under Sadam.

Greg, these people sound earily like the same people who are completely aware of and know who the terrorist are and yet do nothing to point them out to our soldiers or in any way aid them. Sounds more to me like these "civilians" are tactic supporters. :truth:

You make my point for me. If they fear the reprisals of our soldiers more than the terrorists; they will start denying aid and comfort to the terrorists.

Greg, you view them as "civilians". I view them as harborers of terrorists, murderers, and criminals as well as war criminals. The idea of War is "one sick thought". In war the enemy is slaughtered until the ALL fighting and resistance has stopped.
