1979 Ford 1900

This is one of two Ford1900 tractors we own. Our 1982 model is quite beat up (owned since new), so we found this 1979 in fairly decent shape. I believe I am the 3rd owner, as I bought it off of a "flipper" who bought it off of the original owner. I started out just doing a basic cleanup, the blue paint was in good shape, but the fenders and wheels were showing typical signs of rust. I tried to air up the RF tire only to discover it had been filled solid with a rubber sealer. Had to use a sawzall to cut the old tire off the rim. This led to removing all four wheels and tires to repair rust holes as needed. New tires all around followed. The fenders were removed and media blasted. Lots of pitting, so lots of filler primer and block sanding. Previous owner had drilled extra holes in one fender, so I butt welded a small patch panel and took the time to block sand both inner and outer for a seamless repair. Seat frame was rotted out, so I just pop riveted a repair panel, then swapped it with the one on the 1982 (it has worked out fine). I dismantled lift arms for sanding and refinish, replaced the sway springs, straightened out the pto shield/refinished. Removed the transmission cover and shift arms, stripped/refinished, replaced the shift boots and knobs. Hood was in good shape, paint buffed out, stripes were in decent shape...but...previous owner had drilled two holes in the side panel...so...fixed that and of course now the hood gets repainted. I had taken the grill assembly off, disassembled, straightened the grill mesh, cleaned/polished/refinished all parts as needed. The battery tray was too rusted to repair, so I fabricated one (first time fabricator, thanks Harbor Freight) and refinished. I could go on and on with little details, but you can imagine. I should mention the stripes on the hood. If you want them to match the originals, beware of the aftermarket kits online. They don't match the originals (see pics). I had to have mine specially made to specs by a local business. I took them the hood off our 82. If you have any questions about the work I've done, feel free to comment.
