i inheareted property that included a Ford 340 tractor. It starts and runs but the power steering is intermittent. I’m new to tractors, how do I check power steering fluid? Also, I don’t find a hydraulic reservoir, how do I check hyd. Fluid? Thanks in advance for helping a rookie.
I have a Ford 9N which has been converted to 12 volts and has an altenator. It has no battery and both cables are red. How can I safely determine if it is still positive ground or been converted to negative ground.
I have an old ford tractor with '3400' on the tin. I bought it used and have been using it for 20 years. The engine is a 3 cyl diesel and its getting a bit tired so I thought of a winter project to do an in-frame recondition. I cannot seem to find any description of the engine on the net!!?
Despite having all the tractor info, there seems to be shortage of into on this engine even tho I see lots of these tractor driving around. The info on the tractor is:
tractor # C456966

Just picked up a '68 gas Ford.
After working it a while - twin rake hitch - hyd steer for second rake - the transmission seemed way too hot and then it started to leak oil out of the shifter holes in the top plate.
No other symptoms though I never had a ford before so I am not sure that I am operating correctly - ie., does the lift arm position effect hyd remote. I altered 3 point height when remote seemed slow - inconclusive effect...
Hi. First time poster here. Today I swapped out the transaxle on my machine. It was a kinda long and painful job with lots of hammering, especially to get the wheels off. Anyway, at one point this strange bent wire clip fell to the floor from somewhere up in the machine, I must have dislodged it. Does anyone know what it is, what it does and where I need to put it back? Thanks!
