Oil is coming from this plate when the tractor is running. The cotter pin was sitting in this plate just like this when I found it. The hole doesn’t appear to be threaded so I do t think I’m missing some kind of plug. Maybe this is where a mid pto would connect???
Just found a 1943 case D seams complete small bits missing.
Still has mag and carb missing steering wheel gauges broke bullet holes in gas tank.
Gas version tires have air but one rear rim rusted.
Has gen and starter tool boxes am thinking of buying it to work on thoughts?
I have been working on it for the last two weeks or so off and on, and it occurred to me that I should make a Build/Repair thread to track the progress.
First thing I needed to do was replace the blown out rear main seal which prevented me from going to the Tractor parade this year, I was going to take it to the parade in it's work clothes but now that she is mostly apart I will clean it up and paint it.
This little machine had a hard life before I got my grubby mitts on it, pushing snow and salt spreading, so it had a fair bit of rust underneath.
I have got on top of the rot, with just a couple of brake rods to fabricate as the adjusting threads are locked solid.
can anyone tell me the largest tire I can put on an 11 x 24 rim for my super a
i inheareted property that included a Ford 340 tractor. It starts and runs but the power steering is intermittent. I’m new to tractors, how do I check power steering fluid? Also, I don’t find a hydraulic reservoir, how do I check hyd. Fluid? Thanks in advance for helping a rookie.
I have a Ford 9N which has been converted to 12 volts and has an altenator. It has no battery and both cables are red. How can I safely determine if it is still positive ground or been converted to negative ground.
I have an old ford tractor with '3400' on the tin. I bought it used and have been using it for 20 years. The engine is a 3 cyl diesel and its getting a bit tired so I thought of a winter project to do an in-frame recondition. I cannot seem to find any description of the engine on the net!!?
Despite having all the tractor info, there seems to be shortage of into on this engine even tho I see lots of these tractor driving around. The info on the tractor is:
