My Ford tractor I have not definitely determined the tractor model, I know it was made between 1948 and 1952. I have yet to see anything about a Ford 8,9,2N memtioned with a three speed transmission with a high and low gear. If anybody can help me with this please answer. Thanks and I am looking forward to being part of this forum.

I'm a new owner of an 8N myself and new to the forum so I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I hope to learn a lot and have some fun with this.

@DonnieJoe,
Thank you I hope we all have fun. I would like to know how long you have had your 8N, I have had mine only for about a year and I use it some, but I just enjoy old tractors especially a red belly ford as we called
them when I was young and worked on the farm. Nice to meet you
Eddie

Hey Skeet,
I'm brand new here to this site, but maybe I can help. The first of the ford "N" series were built in 1939, hench the name "9N". Through the years the changes and improvments warranted a name change
so the new ford that came out in 1942 was called the "2N". Further changes and improvments, not to mention the falling out with Harry Ferguson of the "3 point hitch" fame after old Henry Ford passed on, they
re-introduced the tractor in 1948 as, you guessed it, the "8N" That lasted til 1953 I believe when they introduced the Jubilee for their 50th aniversary of Ford, and it was designated as an "NAA" There is a
flat spot on the left side of the engine block, just below the head, and behind the oil filter with the serial number stamped on it. For example, *8 N 2 6 3 5 6 7 * for an 8N. I have two 8N's and Ive just finished trying to sort
what year my tractors are. Good luck!
