just the usual rings and valves around ten years ago, when I restored it three years ago it got a new mag, and that made all the difference, it starts on first or second pull every time now, thanks for looking

My folks were both born in 1937. Man are they old! That's a super nice tractor. I'm jealouse big time!

That's a mighty nice looking A. I'm sure your glad to make it start like it should. That's something that adds to the pride of owning such a tractor. I have a 520 that we used to have trouble getting started, went through
several points and plugs with no improvement for years. Had to start with throttle all the way back and then it would pick up one cylinder and you had to let it sit there and run on that for a couple of minutes. After it warmed
up a little, you could sneak the throttle up a little and she would pick up the other cylinder. Depending on how cold it was, it might take 3 to 4 minutes before you could move it. I restored it a few years ago and found a crack
in the right side of the head. Repaired it and corrected the problem of moisture migrating into that area and she starts great now. Sure makes me feel better when I hit the starter. Wondered for long time why she would only run
on one cylinder when she was cold, but it made sense when I found the crack in the head. Just something to remember.
