Still pulling the AV apart. Removed the valve cover last night. "Unbelievable"! This thing has run so good for so many years with as good as NO TLC. I couldn't believe the amount of dirt and sludge that was
built up around the rocker arm assembly. I am kicking my rear for letting her get this bad, but I just don't use it more than about 10 hours a year and that's in the garden. It's hard to see on the picture, but there is a
build-up of rust and guke about half the depth of the valve springs right in the center of head. Makes me wonder if she will run again with all this stuff cleaned out of her. Probably should be ashamed to let everyone know that
I let this thing get this bad, but on the other hand, I'm far too astonished to not share this kind of information. This engine is remarkable.

Proof that they don't make them, like they use to! If a fly hits the windshield on today's new tractors, with everything computerized, light comes on/ engine shuts down. A "technician" with a laptop has to come
out, plug in, wipe off fly splatter, reset computer, so tractor will run again!

So true about the technician having to come out and hook up a laptop to correct a problem. A few years ago my 7810 JD got to jumping all crazy when the chiesel plow was raised, (3 Point hitch). It was over my head to find a way
to adjust the hydraulics to correct the problem. Dealer sent a man out and he sat in the cab for 1/2 day reading on how to make adjustments to correct it. Spent very little time making the adjustments, but it cost me for 1/2 day
labor for him to learn. Just like with the automobile, thery're getting us where they want us when we have a problem.

On the other hand, it is nice when your plowing and come out to the end and push a little button to raise the
implement, make your turn and push the button again to lower the implement right to the previous setting. We just have to cuss it when it's not right and enjoy it when it is. Thank the Lord for technical advances. Live with it
and drive on.
