I have had a GT262 John Deere with a 17 hp. Kawasaki for 18 years and have never had a problem with it.
Runs as strong as the day I bought it.

  • Posted in thread: Why is my new head gasket messed up? on 01/18/2012 at 7:57AM
On any head gaskets that I install I always use Permatex Copper-Coat sealer. This has small copper
particles in the mix and will seal when there are small imperfections in the metal that other sealers...

Check the spark color when the engine is cold and when the engine is hot. Both times the spark should be

The rear end takes 80w-90 gear oil as does the transmission. Gibson parts are VERY hard to find. I have
some parts that I am not using for my restorations. I have a D with hood that is restored, a D t...

  • Posted in thread: Ford 1910 hard starting on 11/30/2011 at 9:24PM
If the engine is not up to running temp, this is normal. Even after running hard on a hot day just 20-30
of engine off will require preheating. I was a mechanic for a Ford tractor dealership for 8 yea...

Most likey sheared flywheel to crankshaft bolts. This is not that uncommon as I have seen it before on
    several 9n/8n/2n tractors.

The clutch pedal and brake pedal are on a common shaft. The clutch pedal should be free to rotate without
moving the brake pedal. Remove the cluth pedal from the shaft and clean it and the shaft with ...
