5015 Glow Plugs

Do I have to pull the glow plugs to check them or how do you check them on the engine? If they are bad where can I get them?

I am not exactly sure as to the book specs on these particular glow plugs but typically glow plugs can be checked with a volt/ohm meter to verify a specified resistance which would indicate that they are good. Infinite or very high resistance values would lean towards a bad glow plug. Once a prospective glow plug is identified, it can be removed and bench tested with a battery.

Do you have a service manual for this machine yet?

Be sure to check all of the glow plugs. If all of them test out bad, that would lead me to look at a bad glow plug relay as well. Sometimes on older machines, the glow plugs are let go for so long that they all may test bad.

You can get parts for this machine at your local Agco/Allis dealer parts counter.

No I don"t have a service manual / was just hoping somebody had a short cut for checking glow plugs without pulling them.
Thanks

Pulled and checked glow plugs and they are OK, relay is working also. Just can not figure out hard starting, runs fine, power OK, no smoke. Any ideas anybody?

Fuel filter? A restricted fuel filter will make fuel flow very difficult.

Fuel filter new, fuel was drained and fresh put in just in case, may be it has been the coldest winter we have had since I got the tractor, previous owner can't remember problems. Must be Global Warming.
Thanks for your help. If something else comes to mind let me know.

Thanks for your help. Found the problem today; the fuel shut lever off was sticking partially closed and only opened up fully when the engine was revved up. Seems to be back to normal.
Thanks again

Sorry for not getting back to you Jay. I have been having some medical problems and in and out of the hospital. Glad you found the problem.
