Oliver77

Recently bought a oliver 77 at a farm auction. Do not know what year it is. Where can I look for the serial number and also I noticed that it is negative ground on a 6 volt system. Shouldn't this be positive ground ?

Take look around front right side near main frame and transmission for serial plate.
What model do you have?
Row Crop..1948-1954
Standard..1948-1952
Industrial..1948-1952
Super.......1954-1958

trac77tor, you will find that many older tractors were positive ground, the old TE massey Fergusons were a prime example.
Cheers

depending on the year find the serial number plate and give us the numbers off it and I can look it up and tell you exactly what you have. W hat size are the rear tires, standard or row crop, there is also an engine casting number on the waterjacket, that can also be used to help determine exact year.
