Llamas?
Ken's video of the last round-up made me remember something that happened the other day.
The wife and I are watching TV and we hear shooting close by.
There's a 20 to 30 year old guy on the property just west of me, plunking away with a 9mm auto.
No one lives there, but there are 3 camp trailers there and the owner shows up once or twice a week. After getting off to a rocky start, we have gotten at least civil towards each other.
We try to look out after each other and he had told me that the only peole that should be there, have a key for the gate. Since the guy parked on the road and walked in, I headed out to see what he was up to.
As I walked out the door, a woman with a gray husky on a leash walks up. (She lives about 1/4 mile north.)
She asked if I had seen her white husky.
Well, the guy with the gun is still shooting and she goes into the property to ask about her dog just as the Sheriff pulls up.
I figure he has come in response to all the gun fire. I walked over to the cruiser and he asks me, "Have you seen a couple of llamas?"
I was speechless and laughed at the poor guy. He admitted he found it odd as well.
Come to find out, the guy to my east with cattle and peanuts on his 350 acres, has a couple llamas that get loose from time to time. They supposedly chase off the coyotes. Anyone ever hear about this?
Oh, the guy with the gun was the owner's step son and had forgotten his key. This was the 3rd time he has dealt with the sheriff for possible trespassing. The last time, they impounded his unregistered car.
