Champion Generators - anybody own one??

Just got a flyer from Costco, the 7200 Watt Champion generator will be $150 off come March.

Does anybody on here have one?? Need one, and this looks like a great deal.

Specs of it, from the Champion site.

Arc welder, mig, chop saw, and if the power goes out for a long time. Noise is not an issue, live in the country surrounded by farms.

Don't have a Champ or ever owned one but checking around, the company has a fairly good reputation. From the checking I've done, while these are Chinese made, Champ appears to have their own mfg facility there. Looking at their Honda clone engine you will find the company name stamped into the valve cover and case into the carb.

I would not write them off as just another Chinese importer. And with Costco's return policy, Champ generators deserve fair consideration.

The noise level is typ for a contractor style generator. My >$3k Honda water cooled genny has similar SPL rating.

I bought and used one this winter. Id give it a couple of thumbs up. Quality seems good and it starts easy.
