So, I have another question.
My oil cup on my air cleaner has kinda a cup within a cup......
do I just fill the outer ring of the cup to the line, or the outer and the inner cup also.
To answer my own previous question, the small lever under the seat of an 8n is for the draft control of the Ferguson three point system

Should be a ring in the outer portion. Should fill it to this ring then put the element in.

Be sure to clean out BOTH cups before re-filling them with oil.

My 8N filter has a small hole in the inner cup that lets the oil equlize between the two chambers and I belive there is a mark on the out side of the filter that's above the hole, I might be doing it all wrong. Hold on I'll go get my operators manual. Page 79 it really didn't say, but I think I was right. Good Luck
