Chevy 2500

Anyone here own a Chevy 2500 with the 6.0L gas V8? I own a 2006 F150 with the 4.6L V8 (should have got the bigger V8) and it has been sluggish to tow with so for my next truck i was looking at a 3/4 with a big gas V8. I have no need for a diesel. Can someone tell me about how their Chevy 2500 6.0L tows?

I have a 2004 4 W D extended cab, power is great, handling is terrible. I installed new shocks and still the rear end tries to come around while braking or acelerating up hill or down hill on semi rough surfaces. The rear end just bounces, loaded or unloaded. The good thing I drive contservatively now. I started to say drive like a old man, but I am a old man. I would test drive any GM pick up first and find a road with a worsh board corner. This truck is dangerous!
I have talked to others who have GM pick ups and there seems to be alot of them that do the same. Good luck Rick Ow yea the 4 wd drive system is junk!

I recently traded off my 2001, Chevy 2500 HD, 4wd crew cab at 167,000 miles. No handling problems here, towed up to 12-13,000# ( receiver hitch), sometimes w/two trailers. Never any shortage of power, w/JD 720D on 16' trailer & JD 4bottom plow on second trailer. It did like it's gas though!

I no longer needed the 3/4, so I went back to a 5.3L in a 2006 Chevy 1500 4wd, crew. ~~ grnspot
