Info.

Hello,I am new to this website and need some help. I have an Agripower 9000 tractor with less than 500 actual hours on it. Previous owner removed the head to replace the head gasket then turned motor over and a sleeve came up with the piston. He then pushed the sleeve down and put the head back on and was leaking water into the crankcase. Has anyone ever rebuilt one of these?

He probably damaged the o-ring on the bottom of the sleeve. If you drain the coolant and oil, you could pull the head, drop the oil pan, disconnect the connecting rods from the crankshaft, pull the pistons, and then pull the sleeves to install new o-rings. I'm not familiar with that model of tractor, but you should be able to do that with the engine installed in the tractor. If the sleeves are bad, you could install a new sleeve/piston kit.

Yep, thats what is called a wet sleave engine, the coolent circulates around the sleave the o ring is screwed up.When you get it back together be sure to use the additive in the coolent that prevents elotrlicis, or you eat up your sleaves from out side in.

This is a 6 cyl diesel built by fiat in Argentina in 1977. Sleeves do not have o-rings,only had 3 thin brass shims between bottom of sleeves and seat in block. I have been able to get parts from Argentina but no repair manual. They only sent 1 shim per cyl. instead of 3. Using 1 shim leaves top of sleeve slightly below top of block and using 3 old shims puts top of sleeve a little above top of block. Any info or ideas?
