how much it can handle

We recently bought a JD 4440. now we are looking at getting a disc chisel for it. Question is, would a 5 shank be to small, or would a 7 shank be to big? Any input?

thanks,

First, welcome to the forum.
Second, I'd suggest you contact a dealer, they should be able to tell you what JD recommends for that size tractor. Unless somebody you know might have one you could try out, then you could get a feel of what it's capable of.
Let us know what you find out?
