FWA Hub Seals

Hi,

I have an old SAME Leopard 85 tractor and have just noticed the LH front hub leaking basically were the hub rotates independantly from the knuckle.

There is very little info available for this model. I have a SAME manual with only very basic diagrams of several Same Models. These diagrams show that the hub contains a planetary gear setup. I am reluctant to start pulling things apart before gaining some knowledge of putting it back together and getting it adjusted correctly.

My question is once i remove the outside cover plate what is the process of removing the hub,Gears, replacing the seals and refitting the hub. Is it a relativley easy Job? I would think that a number of FWA tractors would have a similar design.

I am an Auto mechanic by trade although have been out of game for 15 yrs but still handy with a spanner so im sure im capable, just looking for the advice.

Welcome aboard Austrac, I am sure that someone will be around to give some advice.
I need to keep an eye on some of these guys though, it might not be the advice you want
Cheers
