what tractor is the best to use for running a pit pump? I heard an AC was the best because the pto runs constantly in oil. thanks in advance

Welcome to Tractor Forum jmdem1! I am not exactly sure how to answer your question. To my knowledge most all pto's run constantly in oil. I suppose some other factors that would influence my decision is:

does the pto have multiple speeds?

pto duty can run up a LOT of hours, what engine is used?

transmission sump capacity and filtration system?

manual or electric engagement?


Perhaps some other members will jump in here with more ideas.

I was told that AC tractors pto runs in constant oil bath and does not have a problem with the ptos getting hot or locking the rear-end up. The tractor will be on a pit manure pump.

yea. the pto and tranny are in the hydro oil resivwar- or however ya spell it.

ok thanks for the reply. I have just heard that AC tractors are better for constant pto running. People I have spoke with say that the AC is a great tractor for running the manure put pumps.. thanks
