I am Bran new to TF and Say Hello everyone, seems Like I got a problem similar
to an old one post in 2010, Right side of BS motor was not sounding good I check Exhaust pipe and it was cold other side was hot ! yoweh! took off valve cover and found bent push rod it was the lower one the top one was kinda of crooked but still in place, I straightenend them out and put back together didn't hold up I think I have a stuck valve, any thoughts out there and what would you estimate repair cost at shop??????

Stuck valve, or way out of adjustment my neighbor had some valve work on his recently, and it was $65. Its really hard to say if you can find a shoppe in your area they should give you a free estimate.

Update

Someone told me the cause of bent rods can be cause by an over reve or a governor out of adjustment, taking Tractor to Repair shop, they said I'm looking at $ 250.00 to repair.

If the engine has low hrs it would be worth the repair if not it would be better to find a good used engine.. The governor would have to be out of adjustment, and or the linkage loose or missing. Are they the only mower shoppe in your area?

Well thought I would RSVP this problem. it cost me $230, ran Ok but still had Back fire problem took it back and they said the carb was shot. They cleaned it and some other things still had a small hesitation on start up, still lacked the power it once had, they ended up puttin a rebulit carb on it seemed ok, I haven't cut grass with it yet !

Seat switch doesn't have anything to do with forward motion.

They kill spark and sometimes complete the ground circuit for the electric PTO.

The bounce on the seat probably freed up the brake being stuck. My old Gt does it everytime I set the brake, and then release it. I really need to clean it up this weekend....
