U Ship if you ever need something big and heavy, hauled

Was looking at quotes for getting our BX 2200 shipped and was astounded and depressed at the expense. We actually were going to cancel the tractor and get me a huge soviet era sickle for cutting the darn grass! Then someone recommended a site called U ship, where shippers literally throw themselves at youin the form of bids. Though these bids were surprisingly cheap, we wound up discovering that our local Kubota dealer has a shipper who moves their stuff, so we were able to get a quote from them at $250, shipped right to our place. Outfits like Oak Harbor frieght wanted over $900 and we would have had to pick it up at their facility in Spokane, 60 miles away. Anyway, though we didn't use them, we were still amazed at the bids. If ever you guys need some equipment shipped, you might check them out.

Evidently you've not seen the show Shipping Wars. Independent truckers working through U-Ship. If you've seen the show you wouldn't want to get within a country mile of a "trucker" that gets their work through U-Ship.

The flip side of that coin is my son has used U-Ship twice. Once without an issue and another time where the original trucker went belly up during the transaction and son had to find an alternate.

One needs to be very careful shipping things this way and research the hell out of anyone you are considering on using.

Nah, not much of a tv person at all. I wound up finding a very reputable local guy that works for Kubota, that will move it for the same amount as a u ship bid. Sounds like a heck of a deal or rather situation that your son went through. I could well imagine having a shipment being abandoned along the road. OOOPS!
