Yes bald faced hornets. I had a dang paper wasp light up my calf while in the garden. The hole is still healing 3 weeks later, worse for me than a scorpion sting. You got awfully lucky Sir Thomas........ Good on you for being aware!

Glad ya saw it before they lit ya up!
In the "for what it's worth" category, I've heard WD-40 works to stop the sting. I didn't have any around the other day when a little ol' wasp hit me, but I tried PB Blaster.......small squirt & rubbed it in, the stinging stopped almost instantly.
Might not work for everybody, but it worked for me about 3 or 4 times now.

And you won't have any rust build up!

I use baking soda made into a paste with water for stings, works well, takes away the majority of the swelling.

I had heard somewhere that WD40 was initially made for arthritis but could not get FDA approval so it went a different way as a lubricant for rust, etc.. Anyone ever hear this story?
